The Dashboard is the first screen that you will see after logging into Alma. From this start point you can:
See the weekly academic calendar
View the students who you are linked to in Alma
A heading at the top will immediately let you know whether or not today is a school day, and the week’s calendar will be shown below. The calendar pulls events from the school’s academic calendar and is not editable; the current day will be highlighted in orange.
Below the calendar, you’ll see your students. You are able to look at their profiles by clicking on their names from the Dashboard or by clicking on their picture/name on the left-hand navigation bar.
On the left-hand side of the screen, you’ll also see links to:
Home: Return to the Dashboard at any time
Directory: Contact information for teachers and staff
Calendar: View the school’s academic calendar
Students: You’ll see a link for each of your students
School Year Switcher
The first icon with arrows pointed left and right allows you to switch between school years. Student classes and attendance are school year specific. Other relevant information such as contact information for you and your students, report cards, and transcripts remain the same as you switch from year to year.
Douglas can see prior years (marked with a clock) or the current year (marked with a check).
Bulletin Board
Important school announcements can be found in the Bulletin Board. You can see any messages that have been posted by the school by clicking on the megaphone in the top right corner of your desktop screen or on the megaphone icon from your mobile device.
Initials Icon
By clicking on your initials in the upper-right-hand corner, you can access several other features.
My Info
Alma allows you to see your personal profile; this is the information that is available to teachers and staff. From your personal profile, you can update your information (if allowed by your school), edit your student’s information (if allowed by your school), and add emergency contacts.
Study Guide
If you are reading this, you made it to the study guide! These reference pages are specifically written for parents who are using Alma. You can access them at any time by clicking on “study guide”.
Connected Accounts
Connect Alma with your Google account to enable the use of single sign-on.
Notification Preferences
You can customize how you’d like to receive attendance and emergency notifications (phone call or text message). If your school is using missing assignment notifications, you can choose whether or not you’d like to receive those notifications and choose between email or text message.
Log out
Log out of your account. Don’t worry if you forget to log out. In order to protect student/teachers/parents, all users are automatically logged out after one hour of inactivity.
